¡Unidos regionalmente contra la trata de personas! ⚖️🤝

United Regionally Against Human Trafficking! ⚖️🤝
As part of our Regional Initiative to Combat Human Trafficking and Provide Justice to Women and Girls, we proudly supported the 3rd Ordinary Meeting of 2026 of the Regional Coalition Against Trafficking in Persons and Migrant Smuggling (CORETT) in Panamá, a key forum for strengthening national and regional responses to this crime.

The meeting addressed timely and critical issues: the relationship between human trafficking, money laundering, and digital fraud, as well as the challenges artificial intelligence poses for investigation and victim protection.

Dr. Carmen Zabarauckas, CEO of Justice Education Society (JES), reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to CORETT, encouraging collaboration among countries, institutions, and experts. With the financial support of Global Affairs Canada, we continue working toward a safer and more just region for everyone.

Every case of trafficking in persons leaves a real victim behind, most often women, girls, and people in situations of vulnerability across Honduras and the region. Detecting it, investigating it, and bringing it before the courts depends on the technical capacities of those on the front line.

Last week, on the occasion of World Day against Trafficking in Persons, JES strengthened the capacities of the and the in Honduras through the course Leadership in Criminal Intelligence Analysis in Trafficking in Persons Cases.

This activity is part of the Regional Initiative to Combat Human Trafficking and Provide Justice for Women and Girls, which JES implements with the support of Global Affairs Canada through the Anti-Crime Capacity Building Program (ACCBP): another step toward justice for victims.
