Join us to learn about this ancient agricultural tradition of rural Wales and how a folk custom helped ensure food security for small, scattered communities.

The custom was the pagan origin of the Harvest Thanksgiving of today and we invite you to share music, dance and a “rustic plate” to celebrate our Welsh Community!

The VWS Choir will be recommencing practices on 29 August and is open to new members!
Practices are held most Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm. Singers don’t need to be able to read music or speak Welsh. All necessary learning tools (including music and lyrics) are available to singers on our web page. Participation is cost free. The choir is on hiatus for the present, but rehearsals will resume in September.

This lovely park has picnic tables, a water park, a playground and public conveniences. Dogs are permitted.
Please bring lunch and a folding chair. There will be treats, drinks and a Welsh Society slab cake.
Come and spend a summer afternoon with fellow members, family and friends!
There will be (optional) outdoor games: bocce, croquet, three-legged and egg and spoon races and “Queenie Queenie.”

The choir’s 2026 Tour will feature concerts in vibrant cities such as Nanaimo, Victoria and Vancouver, to share the joy of Welsh song in inspiring venues. Celebrations will continue with an Afterglow
hosted at the Cambrian Hall after the Vancouver concert. Those interested in attending any of the concerts can find details at: https://corcymrygogleddamerica.com/choir-tours

The choir’s 2026 Tour will feature concerts in vibrant cities such as Nanaimo, Victoria and Vancouver, to share the joy of Welsh song in inspiring venues. Celebrations will continue with an Afterglow
hosted at the Cambrian Hall after the Vancouver concert.

Parti Cymraeg Vancouver
(Welsh Language singing group.)
Practices are held most Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm. Singers don’t need to be able to read music or speak Welsh. All necessary learning tools (including music and lyrics) are available to singers on our web page. Participation is cost free. The choir is on hiatus for the present. If you’re new to the Welsh Society, or visiting us for the first time, please note that most of our events take place in the Red Dragon Pub, underneath the Cambrian Hall. Entry is either through the double doors at the back of the building (off the car park) or through the double doors on the east side of the building, down a few steps.
