Join us to learn about this ancient agricultural tradition of rural Wales and how a folk custom helped ensure food security for small, scattered communities.
The custom was the pagan origin of the Harvest Thanksgiving of today and we invite you to share music, dance and a “rustic plate” to celebrate our Welsh Community!
You are invited to bring a non-perishable contribution for the Food Bank

Cambrian Ramblers Walking Group
The group meets every two weeks on a Monday for walks at various locations in the Vancouver area. Next Walk: 12 October. An invitation will be sent to VWS Members approximately one week before the walk. Information: [email protected]

The VWS Choir is open to new members!
Practices are held most Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm. Singers don’t need to be able to read music or speak Welsh. All necessary learning tools (including music and lyrics) are available to singers on our web page. Participation is cost free.

Wales International Event
Join Wales International for the third in their series of special live Welsh-language events, wherever you are in the world! Their guest is Treorchy-born TV and film producer Branwen Cennard, whose 2026 film Effi o Blaenau has been a roaring success.
The one-hour event will be held twice — Saturday 3 October at 5pm GMT+1 and Sunday 4 October at 9am GMT+1 — to give Welsh speakers around the world the chance to join. Free tickets are available through Eventbrite, thanks to sponsorship from Wales international and Almahurst Business Solutions in Melbourne.

If you’re a member and bring a friend along, please remember to sign them in and have them sign the visitors’ book.
If you’re new to the Welsh Society, or visiting us for the first time, please note that most of our events take place in the Red Dragon Pub, underneath the Cambrian Hall. Entry is either through the double doors at the back of the building (off the car park) or through the double doors on the east side of the building, down a few steps.
