❤️ Hearts of Freedom touched hearts across generations.
Thank you to the more than 100 community members who joined us for an afternoon of storytelling, reflection, and celebration with the Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian communities. Through the documentary screening, book presentation, panel discussion, cultural performances, and community potluck, we honoured the courage, resilience, and contributions of Southeast Asian refugees who rebuilt their lives in Canada.
Many were moved to tears hearing firsthand accounts of fleeing war, persecution, and uncertainty in search of freedom, belonging, and a new home. These powerful stories remind us of the strength of our communities and the importance of preserving and sharing migration histories.
As a Museum of Migration, PCHC-MoM was especially touched by these personal accounts. We were reminded of the power of storytelling to preserve history, foster intercultural understanding, and strengthen connections across generations and communities.
Thank you to Hearts of Freedom (HOF) team, Canadian Mennonite University (), and SEACHS (.e.a.c.h.s), as well as everyone who shared their stories, culture, and hearts with us. ✨
