Ismaili Centre Vancouver

Ismaili Centre Vancouver A community space for cultural and social gatherings, intellectual engagement and reflection.

The Ismaili Centre, Vancouver is one of six Ismaili Centres globally. Through their design and function, the Ismaili Centres reflect a mood of humility, forward outlook, friendship and dialogue. They facilitate the promotion of cultural, educational and social programmes from the broadest, non-denominational perspectives. A central purpose of the Ismaili Centres is to encourage mutual exchanges and understanding between diverse peoples, communities and faiths. The Centres are, therefore, not only places for spiritual search, but also spaces for broadening intellectual horizons and fostering an appreciation of pluralism.

What does it mean to seek peace in this moment, here in Canada and across the world?

Join Meredith Preston McGhie, Secretary General of the Global Centre for Pluralism, for a timely conversation exploring the connection between pluralism and peace, from how we live together in our communities to the forces shaping conflict, displacement and belonging around the world.

Drawing on decades of experience in conflict and peace building, Meredith will invite us to consider what these global challenges mean for each of us, and the role we can play in building a more peaceful and pluralistic future.

Because while peace can feel like a global challenge, it is also shaped much closer to home, through the choices we make every day.

✨ For our 8th Ismaili Centre Speaker Series, we're exploring a powerful question:

How does architecture shape identity and community?

The Ismaili Centres are more than buildings - they're spaces designed to foster dialogue, connection, and civic engagement across generations.

Join Farrokh Derakhshani, Director of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, in conversation with architect Farouk Noormohamed as they explore the vision behind these remarkable spaces and how these spaces are designed to welcome, connect, and inspire today and for generations to come.
