DOGWOOD RESCUE SOCIETY's adoption process begins when you submit a completed application form to us, followed by a home visit. To receive an application form, and review our adoption process, please send an email to [email protected] (an auto reply with this information will be sent to you). Our policies require that we meet all adopters and/or fosters in person. We are a volunteer-run organization of compassionate people, trainers, and animal medics, any effort you make helps the adoption process proceed more efficiently. We whole-heartedly encourage you to take the initiative if you wish to adopt a particular animal. Even if the animal is listed as “pending adoption”, please follow up with us, as a potential adoption may fall through. Before you decide to adopt one please do your research to ensure the breed is the right fit for both you and the animal. Keep in mind that sporting or gun dogs require a great deal of exercise and care. We also offer a SENIORS to SENIORS PROGRAM, where the adoption fee is reduced for approved seniors who adopt an older dog.
