🚨 Only 1 in 5 🇦🇱🇽🇰🇨🇦
As we finalize the first formal study focused on the experiences of ethnic Albanians in Canada, one finding is impossible to ignore:
📊 Just 20.8% of respondents reported being involved in an Albanian diaspora organization.
For a community that is growing, highly educated, and strongly connected to its culture, that number deserves attention.
Many participants said they want more than traditional celebrations. They are also looking for:
💼 professional development
🤝 networking opportunities
📚 educational activities
💻 employment and career support
🌍 stronger connections across generations and regions
At the same time, community leaders pointed to another challenge: limited volunteerism and participation can make it difficult to build and sustain new initiatives.
The takeaway is clear: stronger Albanian Canadian organizations need both organizations that evolve with the needs of the community and community members who are willing to engage, volunteer, and contribute. ❤️🖤
More findings from the study coming soon.
