Books, music, and community in unexpected places! 📚✨

Our Inspiring Community Grant program recently supported a series of pop-up book gatherings hosted by in partnership with Intriguing Connections.

The series brought books directly into the spaces where people live, learn, and gather. From author readings and live music at UBC Library, to relaxed summer pop-ups at community gardens and Wesbrook Community Centre, over 250 residents, students, and families dropped by to browse, trade book recommendations, and spark new connections.

This project combined placemaking with literary programming—what other activities can you pair with placemaking to help people meet and connect? Tell us your ideas and get up to $500 of funding to bring your idea to life!

The Inspiring Community Grant is open to all UBC students, faculty, staff, and UNA, Acadia Park, Musqueam Residents. Apply at (link in bio) : inspired.ubc.ca/communitygrants

What a magical evening it was at Harvest Feastival 2026! ✨

Starting with the warm Musqueam welcome by Councillor Alec Guerin to the six delicious locally-sourced dishes crafted by the talented chefs at .ubc, we enjoyed lively singing and dance-offs by the UBC Staff Choir and Eh?Cappella, plus a surprise visit from UBC's beloved mascot, Thunder! After indulging in two stunning desserts, the led guests to the Arts & Culture District for an incredible lineup of curated shows and experiences.

To all who dined, danced, and sang with us under the big tent, thank you for bringing so much warmth and energy to our community celebration.

We can’t wait to celebrate together again next year!

Be our guest at the third annual Musical Magic: Disney Edition, part of the Inspired by the Chan series with !

Spend an afternoon at the Chan Centre as it becomes the happiest place on campus. Featuring songs from your favourite Disney movies, prepare to let it go and belt with us for our sing-alongs! Come in costume and join us for a fun, family-friendly show. Candy will be given out pre-show, no tricks required.

✨ The countdown to Harvest Feastival is on! 🍐

For the foodies, here's a throwback to past Harvest dishes to get you excited for this year's mouthwatering menu created by the chefs at .ubc!

On September 17, prepare to feast family-style on six of the coziest, fall-inspired dishes featuring fresh local ingredients from the .

The feast starts with a UBC Farm Autumn Harvest Salad and Phyllo-Wrapped Baked Brie with fig jam. For the mains, savour a Miso-Glazed British Columbia Steelhead with yuzu brown butter alongside Harvest Gnocchi with roasted UBC Farm Squash. Make sure to save room for TWO desserts—indulge in handmade Cranberry Orange Cannoli and Sticky Date Pear Baby Cakes!

After dinner, wander in and out of performances and exhibits in UBC's world-class Arts and Culture District!

Your ticket includes the full family-style feast and Arts Night Out activities! A cash bar will also be available on-site serving a curated selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
