In lead up to our Volleyball Tournament, GABRIELA BC and Migrante BC will be hosting a volleyball social at South Memorial Park this Friday, August 14th.

This is a trans-affirming space, and we will be setting up nets for co-ed:

•⁠ ⁠Intermediate R4’s

If you don’t play volleyball, you can learn or you are invited to simply hang out ❣️

Hindi Krimen Magsilbi Sa Masa! Palayain sina Pasion at Serrano!
Serving the People is not a Crime! Free Pasion and Serrano!

We strongly denounce the unjust arrests of Christina Pasion, and Binay Serrano following a military and police operation that occurred in Cabuyao, Laguna in the Southern Tagalog region on July 30. Pasion was arbitrarily arrested alongside Serrano, an indigenous Mangyan-Buhid organizer affiliated with Bigkis at Lakas ng mga Katutubo sa Timog Katagalugan. While Pasion and Serrano were seeking medical treatment, police and military forces intruded into the residence of where they were staying in the early morning hours on baseless claims of being linked to the New People’s Army. We likewise strongly condemn the enforced disapperance of Serrano for nearly 72 hours. A humanitarian aid team from Karapatan Southern Tagalog was finally able to locate Serrano earlier today in the District Jail of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro where she had reportedly been detained since July 31. Denying her whereabouts to receive legal assistance and filing trumped-up charges against her is a violation of Serrano’s rights.

Habang patuloy na lumalala ang krisis sa Pilipinas sa banta ng Pax Silica, nararapat at tama lamang na maglingkod sa ating mga kapwa-Pilipinong dumaranas ng kahirapan at pagsasamantala, sa Pilipinas man o sa ibang bansa. Mga kapwa-Migrante, sama-sama nating igiit na kagyat na palayain sina Pasion at Serrano sa lalong madaling panahon, igalang ang kanilang mga karapatan, at sama-sama tayong kumilos at magkapit-bisig upang harapin ang terorismo ng estado at ang mga ugat ng ating sapilitang migrasyon.
