Meet Elyette Libao, IBABC board director and Human Resources Coordinator at B&W Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Langley. Elyette has been part of the insurance industry since 2006, beginning her career in her family’s business while attending university.

Today, she focuses on human resources and employee development, with a passion for helping people grow, succeed and reach their full potential. Through her work with IBABC, Elyette hopes to support leadership, mentorship and professional growth while contributing to the future of the industry.

Outside of insurance, Elyette enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and being with her dog. She’s also proud to continue supporting her family’s business as the next generation steps into leadership.

Meet Vanessa Lee, IBABC’s Area Director for Surrey & Fraser Valley.

Vanessa began her insurance career in 2010, and what started as a part-time role grew into a career she genuinely enjoys. As operations manager at Harris Insurance Services (Richmond) Ltd., part of the InsureBC Group, she’s passionate about meeting new people, learning about different businesses, and helping clients navigate important moments in their lives.

Vanessa joined the IBABC Board to gain a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities shaping our industry, while supporting the growth of brokers and helping build the future of our profession.

Outside of insurance, Vanessa enjoys staying active through seasonal hobbies, including working on her golf game and trying to keep more golf balls in play than in the hazards.

Meet Amanda McPhee, IBABC’s president for the 2026-27 term!

Amanda has been a broker for over 20 years and is currently the Commercial Team Lead, Vancouver Island, at Acera Insurance. What she loves most about insurance is the variety every day brings. From underwriting and assisting clients to helping her team solve problems, no two days are ever the same.

Amanda joined IBABC to broaden her understanding of the broker profession across B.C. and soon found that advocating for her fellow brokers was what kept her engaged.

As IBABC president, Amanda brings decades of industry experience and a passion for supporting brokers across the province.
