The UBC Esports Association is a student-run, non-profit gaming club at the University of British Columbia. Find more about us on this page!

We support a variety of gaming communities and events in the Lower Mainland. UBC Esports Association (UBCEA) was first established in November 2, 2010 as the UBC StarCraft Club. James Choi, Carman Lam, Michael Medley, and Sean Oh reconstituted the club as UBCEA in July 4, 2012 to include more game titles. We are centralized around the Vancouver campus of the University of British Columbia, but our

membership and events are open to anyone, not just UBC students. Our purpose is to establish a community of UBC students who enjoy gaming, by facilitating improved interaction and communication of players both offline and online. We host various events including fan meets, icebreakers, viewing parties, tournaments, mentorships, giveaways, and creative contests. Our goal is to raise awareness of Vancouver's esports scene and to participate in and/or support local events.

The UBC Gaming Expo, is hosting a Pokémon TCG tournament, a standard format TCG tournament, in collaboration with and sponsored by

Prizes include an Ascended Heroes ETB for first place and more! First time trainer? No worries, all players will be automatically entered into raffles for Pokémon packs, merchandise and more!

Not a player? Stop by the room from 3 pm to 6 pm for Giveaway Kahoots, Pokémon Imitation Contest, Freeplay, and TCG vendors!

📍Where: AMS Student Nest, Room 2311, 6133 University Blvd, Vancouver

🗓️What Day: Saturday, March 7th, 2024

⏰What Time: Swiss 11am to 2:30pm, Top Cut 2:30pm to Completion (Check-in and Payment begins at 10:30 am, First Round expected at approx. 11:10 am)

💰How much: $15 CAD + fees, $10 CAD for UBCEA members
