350Vancouver is part of the 350.org global movement tackling Climate Change. We create climate-focused campaigns, projects and actions led from the bottom up by people in Vancouver. The name 350 refers to 350 parts per million of CO2 in the atmosphere. 350Vancouver is a grassroots-driven community run entirely by volunteers. We are focused on local issues but also support larger campaigns; we understand that people must stand together to create the big changes we want. Since the burning of fossil fuels is the most significant contributor to the climate crisis, we support a rapid shift away from fossil fuels. Scientific studies conclude that to keep temperature increase in atmosphere to 2°C, 80% of the fossil fuels in the earth must be kept in the ground and not burned.
