Celpip and IELTS Guide for PR in Canada

A summer picnic with the UBC Department of Educational Studies community at Stanley Park.

It was lovely meeting graduate students, faculty members, and their families while sharing good food, meaningful conversations, new connections, and a beautiful sunset to end the day.

As Dr. André shared, “It is through transitory events that we can engage the building of permanent, long-standing, and meaningful wholes, like communities.”

🇨🇦 Still getting CELPIP 7 or 8 when you need CLB 9 or 10?

This is probably one of the most common messages we receive.

“I keep practising, but my score is not moving.”

And our first advice is usually: don’t just practise more. Find out WHY your score is not improving.

Some students need better CELPIP Speaking structure.
Some need detailed CELPIP Writing feedback.
Others are struggling with Reading strategies, Listening comprehension, vocabulary, or simply how they approach the test.

This is why our 1-on-1 CELPIP coaching is personalized. We don’t believe every student should follow exactly the same review program.

And lately, seeing students move from CLB 7 and 8 to CLB 9, CLB 10 and above, increase their CRS scores, and eventually receive their Express Entry ITAs has been incredibly rewarding.

Their results belong to them. They did the hard work. We’re simply grateful they trusted us to guide their CELPIP preparation.

If you’re preparing for CELPIP General for PGWP, Canada PR, Express Entry or CEC, don’t wait until another test attempt to figure out what’s holding your score back.

📩 DM us “CELPIP” + your 4 current scores + your target scores.

We’ll tell you which area we would focus on first.

‼️From CLB 7 and CLB 8… to CLB 10. 🍁🇨🇦

This is exactly why I never let my students define themselves by their first CELPIP score.

Congratulations to my student for achieving:

✅ Listening 10
✅ Reading 9
✅ Writing 10
✅ Speaking 10
Average: CLB 10

Not long ago, reaching CLB 9 or CLB 10 seemed impossible. Like many people preparing for the CELPIP General Test, this student experienced the frustration of staying at CLB 7 and CLB 8.

Instead of giving up, we focused on improving one section at a time with the right CELPIP strategies, structured practice, and personalized feedback.

Today, that hard work has paid off.

A higher CELPIP score does more than improve English proficiency.

It can increase your CRS score, strengthen your Express Entry profile, and bring you one step closer to Canadian Permanent Residency (PR).

One of my favourite things to hear is:

“Ma’am, akala ko hanggang CLB 7 lang talaga ako.”

Then a few weeks later…

“Ma’am, CLB 10 na.”

Those moments remind me why I continue teaching.

Thank you for trusting Fluency Education with your CELPIP preparation. Every student who reaches CLB 9 or CLB 10 proves that consistent practice and the right guidance can make a real difference.

If you’re preparing for:

🍁 Express Entry
🍁 CRS score improvement
🍁 Canada PR

📚 CELPIP Speaking Tip of the Day

First of all, thank you for the overwhelming trust in Fluency Education. Our CELPIP coaching schedule has been filling up quickly, and we’re grateful to support students across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and throughout Canada.

💡 Speaking Tip #1: Stop memorizing templates you found Online.

Many candidates lose marks because their answers sound rehearsed.

Instead, follow this simple structure:

✅ Answer the question directly.
✅ Give 2 reasons.
✅ Add 1 short personal example.
✅ End with a clear conclusion.

Example:

Question: Which is better, working from home or working in an office?

❌ “First of all… moreover… therefore…” (sounds memorized)

✅ “I’d rather work from home because I can save commuting time and stay more productive. For example, I get extra time every morning to exercise before work. That’s why working from home is the better option for me.”

Remember, the CELPIP examiner is looking for clear communication, natural English, organization, vocabulary, and confidence, not a memorized script.

Small improvements in Speaking can help you move from CLB 8 to CLB 9 or CLB 10, which may significantly increase your CRS score for Express Entry and Canada PR.

See you in the next CELPIP Tip!

🚨 From CRS 504 to 523… and now invited.‼️

I’m grateful to witness this kind of progress. What inspires me most is not just the score, but the consistency, discipline, and determination behind it.

Jayf was aiming to move out of CLB 8&9 and reach at least 508 for Express Entry. Through focused CELPIP preparation, he achieved a CLB 10 average, leading to a strong increase in his CRS score.

What makes this even more meaningful…
distance was never an issue.
He’s based in Ontario, we’re in BC, and we made it work fully online.

This is a reminder that with the right guidance and mindset, results will follow no matter where you are. Your hard work inspires me.

🚨A gentle reminder 🚨
Please be vigilant. As we continue to share real student results, some pages may copy our posts and present them as their own.

From Classroom to the North: Experiential Learning in Action

Our trip to the Northwest Territories was more than just travel—it was real learning in action. They organized everything themselves: Flights. Logistics. Coordination. Problem-solving on the spot. …

Two friends. One clear goal. A non-negotiable commitment to achieve their target CELPIP scores.

They reached out while actively searching for a limited coaching slot. They understood that timing, guidance, and the right strategy make all the difference. When a spot opened, they secured it immediately and committed fully to the process.

Today, I am sharing their results. They achieved their target scores with confidence and clarity.

This is what happens when focused students combine discipline with a structured, results-driven CELPIP coaching approach. Success is not accidental. It is built through the right techniques, targeted feedback, and a deep understanding of CELPIP standards across Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening.

I intentionally keep my coaching slots limited to maintain a high level of personalization, accountability, and consistent results for each student.

If you are serious about achieving CLB 9 or higher for your PR goals in Canada, you may reach out for a complimentary assessment. From there, I will map out a clear and strategic plan tailored to your current level.

Results like these are not by chance. They are by design.
