H O P E , A W A Y from H O M E 💙 Every week, our Club Freedom team set out to bring support to those experiencing homelessness in areas across our region.

Last week, they headed to Coquitlam. 👟

That night, there were approximately a dozen people in the encampment, sleeping outside with only makeshift shelters to call 'home'.

The Coquitlam Shelter (3030 Gordon) is also a supportive housing unit with 30 private rooms. We are grateful to be able to share with those in residence here.

Our team brought brought juice boxes, granola bars, and invitations to our Club Freedom community meals and our housing support service The HOPE Project.

This week, they were also able to bring 3 ZacPacs from ZacPac Project 🫶🏽 high-quality sleeping bag kits, filled with additional resources.

The impact was visible and tangible. People were very appreciative of the things our team gave out - but the biggest impact came from having conversations with each person.

One of our Outreach workers gave out a Zac Pac to a man who has a job, but still had no where to sleep. "He got very excited when I gave him the ZacPac. It seemed like he needed it pretty badly." 💙

S U R R E Y 🍏 Every Wednesday, we get to support dozens of families in Surrey through our Food For Families program. This has become a beautiful community of people who serve together with compassion and with joy. 😃

Connecting with families, and with each other, make this so much more than 'just another program'.

The people here become friends, and feel like family. 💙

Every smile and interaction can be a life-changing reminder that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Recently, we've even been able to add delicious, frozen take home meals from Rose's Kitchen, as an additional support. Chef-quality, home-style meals that feel like home are now always on the menu! 🍲

M E E T T H E T E A M 👋🏽 We are so happy to announce that we have a new addition to our Club Freedom team. Say hello to Isaac, our new Club Freedom Program Manager! ✨ Isaac gets the opportunity to meet with people one-on-one and discuss their immediate and future needs, as well as walk closely with them to assist with their housing, financial & physical needs. He also uses his past life experience to walk alongside them offering spiritual council and direction to those who need it. Plus, he’s the chillest guy you’ll ever meet! 😎

1️⃣ What do you do when you’re not at CityReach?
I love being outdoors off-grid camping, surfing, or even a simple hike. If I’m not at CityReach or doing something outdoors, I will be gaming with my nose to the monitor for several hours. ⛺️🏄‍♂️👾

2️⃣ What is a fun or surprising fact about you?
I have climbed a 10,000ft mountain. 🥾🗻

3️⃣ What is your favourite thing about CityReach?
My favourite thing about CityReach is the heart behind what we do. It is the act of meeting basic needs through sacrifice, teamwork, and faith that truly makes CityReach what it is. 💙💙💙

4️⃣ What does it mean to be in the Hope Business?
What it means to be in the Hope Business to me is to be an active helper in people’s lives, while also reminding and facilitating Hope to those who may have lost it. 🫶🤝

A P L A C E T O C O U N T O N 🧡

When rising grocery costs made it difficult to afford enough healthy food, Alizon and her young son were referred to CityReach’s Food For Families program.

The fresh produce and variety of food she receives each week help her prepare nutritious meals, stretch her budget, and ensure her family has access to healthy food.

For Alizon, the impact goes beyond groceries. She says the kindness of CityReach’s volunteers and the sense of community she experiences each week are what make the program so special. Through food support, seasonal programs, and meaningful connections, CityReach has become a place she can count on during difficult seasons.

“Some days I show up ready to cry, feeling fully defeated, but leave with food and a smile.”

Alizon is grateful for the staff and volunteers who have encouraged both her and her son and provided hope when they needed it most 🙌

M A Y D A Y S 🙌🏼 We had a great time partnering with to be part of the May Days Parade last month. 🎉

It was a fantastic morning meeting neighbours and sharing what we're all about. 💙 Ensuring that our community knows they are loved and they don't have to do life alone is such a big part of our mission.

Seeing our truck in the parade was pretty fun, too. 🚛
We look forward to the next event! 😃
