Grandview Woodland Food Connection Supporting the right to accessible, affordable and sustainably produced food for all in Grandview Woodland

Initiated in 2004, Grandview Woodland Food Connection is a neighbourhood organization dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of those of us who are struggling financially in the Grandview Woodland neighbourhood by promoting an accessible, just and sustainable food system for our community. We seek to build capacity of the neighbourhood through education, information sharing, and the creation of grassroots initiatives to address food security and justice issues.

Britannia School Garden Community Workparties

Join our work parties every Sunday from 10 AM–1 PM.
We meet in the Nexway̓s wa lh7áy̓nexw(Transformed Life Garden) or šxʷqʷeləwən ct(One Heart One Mind Garden). The gardens are situated on the NW corner of the Britannia School grounds.

This is experiential hands-on learning; planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting as we care for the gardens. These Sunday Skill Sharing Parties provide an opportunity to learn and work together, so bring your friends and drop in.

No registration required — simply show up with enthusiasm and a green thumb. For more information, please email Ruth Elizabeth at [email protected] or call 604-718-5895.

Help us understand how Canadians use food at home.

Our colleagues at Love Food Hate Waste Canada are running a short 10 minute survey to learn more about our everyday habits around shopping, cooking, storing food, and using leftovers. Your responses will help to develop better tools, tips, and resources to prevent household food waste.

As a thank you, everyone who completes the survey can enter for a chance to win $1000 towards groceries from Love Food Hate Waste Canada.

Share your experience and help shape the future of food waste prevention in Canada.

Help build a Canada‑wide understanding of how households manage food for the chance to win $1,000 towards groceries. Complete it now.

Big News Just out of Toronto!!!!

Just on the heels of COPE's defeated Public Grocery Store Pilot motion, defeated by ABC, Toronto City Council just approved a public grocery store pilot, an identical motion recently put forward by Sean Orr (COPE)

Sorry Vancouver but Toronto upped you big time.

Congratulations to Toronto for your efforts to address food affordability.

Volunteering opportunity to connect with the land and community!

10/20/2025

This hands-on workshop offers a unique blend of land-based learning, literacy, and climate action. Participants will discover Bokashi composting—an effective method that uses beneficial
microbes to ferment food waste, including salmon scraps from summer processing, which traditional composting can’t handle. The event is organized by Collingwood Neighbourhood House in partnership with Ancestral Foodways Collective Society. No costs, everybody is welcome!
