Champions come in a lot of forms.

An athlete. A grandmother. A lawyer. Someone who drives three hours each way to make it to rehearsal every week. And, of course, we can't forget the baritones!

Different lives, different reasons to sing, same chorus. That's the thing about "champion." It never looks the way you'd expect.

If you've been wondering whether there's a place for you too, there is.

What does being a champion mean to you? At Lions Gate, it might mean stepping onto an international stage. It might also mean returning to singing after 20 years, learning a harmony part for the first time, helping the person beside you, or walking into a room where you do not know anyone.

You do not have to arrive as a champion. Sometimes being a champion starts with walking through the door.

Another surprise at Tuesday night’s rehearsal! Jo-Anne, director of Rhythm of the Rockies (with members Mia and Yuko), joined us for the evening to watch Sandy in action and brought some special gifts for VanQ and Mint.

We had a little anniversary surprise at rehearsal on Tuesday! Joy and Bob celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, and while Joy was busy spending her anniversary evening at chorus (because who wouldn’t want to?), Bob showed up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers for her and chocolates for the whole chorus.

Happy anniversary, Joy and Bob! And thank you, Bob, for the treats!

📅 Our summer schedule is here!

Please note that we will have dark nights (no rehearsal) on June 30th, July 7th, July 28th, and August 4th.

We will be rehearsing on all other Tuesday evenings this summer, and we'd love to see you there! Whether you're a returning guest or have been thinking about checking us out for the first time, our doors are open and everyone is welcome to join us at rehearsal.

We can't wait to spend another summer making music together! 🎶☀️

So many reasons to celebrate! 🎉 We cheered on our June birthday stars and presented additional awards to members who were unable to attend Spring Bling. It was a wonderful reminder of the people who make our chorus so special. Here's to celebrating one another, creating more memories together, and all the exciting things still to come!

Spring Bling Picnic last Tuesday was a blast! We celebrated the volunteers who generously give their time to the chorus and help make everything possible. We also enjoyed special performances by the quartets Four on the Floor and Machu Pitches. We went home with full tummies and hearts full of love! 💛🎶

Please note that tonight’s rehearsal is closed for our annual “Spring Bling.” We’ll be spending the night celebrating member achievements and recognizing the incredible volunteers who help make our chorus possible. We look forward to having all of our guests join us again next week as we continue working on new music!

Tonight is our first rehearsal back together since contest, and we can’t wait to celebrate, sing, laugh, and relive an unforgettable weekend with our chorus family ❤️
