Our communities were deeply impacted and forever altered by the tragedy that unfolded at last year’s Lapu Lapu Day Celebration. This gathering became yet another painfully grief-stricken mark in the long history of our collective resilience.

Today, on Lapu Lapu Day, we pause to remember the lives lost on April 26, 2025. We hold their families, loved ones, all those impacted and still healing, in our hearts. And we continue to stand with the Filipino community in grief, remembrance, and solidarity.

What was meant to be a day of joy became a moment of profound loss. Yet, in the year since, we have continuously witnessed the strength of care and togetherness within and across our communities.

Please take care of yourselves and one another.
Support resources are available in the following slide.

Calling Black Community members in “Vancouver” to participate in ’s Black Equity Integration Study. This nation wide survey supports their project assessing whether work integration social enterprises (WISEs) are effectively serving Black Canadians— particularly those who are most marginalized, including individuals with prior involvement in the criminal justice system. The study also explores how WISEs can better serve Black Canadians and Black Canadians who are ex-offenders.

The survey takes an average of 10 minutes to complete, featuring questions about your education, training and employment history. If you are interested and would like to participate, please visit the survey link in our bio and enter “HOGAN’S ALLEY” as your organisation code! Those who participate in full will be compensated for their contributions.
