International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

Today, we honour the strength, wisdom, cultures, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples around the world. We celebrate their enduring contributions, rich traditions, and deep connections to community, land, and heritage. Let us continue to listen, learn, and work together in the spirit of respect, reconciliation, and inclusion.

Huge thanks to Tim Hortons and everyone who bought a Smile Cookie this year!

Because of your support, $31,472.78 was raised for Foundry Surrey Central through the 2026 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign.

Every cookie helps us support youth and families with mental health, wellness, and substance use services right here in our community.

Thank you for showing up, spreading smiles, and making a difference!

Today, on International Non-Binary People's Day, we celebrate and uplift non-binary people around the world.

Non-binary identities are diverse, valid, and deserving of respect every day of the year. Let's continue building communities where everyone can live authentically, be seen for who they are, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Happy International Non-Binary People's Day to all who identify beyond the gender binary. Your voices, experiences, and contributions matter.

As we observe Canada Day, PCRS recognizes the many perspectives and experiences that shape this day across the country. For some, it is an opportunity to celebrate community, belonging, and the values that bring us together. For others, particularly many Indigenous Peoples, it is a time to reflect on the lasting impacts of colonization and the ongoing journey toward justice and healing.

We acknowledge the ancestral, traditional, and unceded territories where we live, work, and gather, and we honour the Indigenous Peoples whose stewardship, cultures, and knowledge have shaped these lands since time immemorial.

Canada Day offers an opportunity to celebrate the diversity, resilience, and strengths of our communities while also deepening our understanding of our shared history. At PCRS, we remain committed to supporting reconciliation through meaningful action, ongoing learning, and respectful relationships.

As we come together this Canada Day, we invite our communities to reflect on the stories that have shaped this country, recognize the work that still lies ahead, and celebrate the connections that help create a more inclusive and hopeful future for everyone.
