Sometimes it can feel like there are few spaces to explore and build our inclusive leadership without judgment or right-wrong thinking while also considering power and privilege in our workplace.

Yet, we face growing resistance and political backlash when we want to move forward and do the right thing. This means, building trusting relationships, inclusive cultures, and equitable policies in our workplaces and communities are needed more than ever.

🌼 This spring, join our Consulting and Training Services team for our public Inclusive Leadership Masterclass.

Here are our offerings:
1️⃣ Cohort for everyone | Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7, 9:30 am to 4 pm

2️⃣ Cohort for white leaders | Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14, 2026, 9:30 am to 4 pm

📍All classes are in person offered at the RADIUS Office (308 West Hastings, Vancouver).

💲Fees: Take advantage of our early bird price and get $50 off!

🤔 Why a separate cohort for white leaders?

There are few spaces designed specifically for white leaders to ask difficult questions, examine their own racial identity, privilege, and the context of “whiteness” in the workplace, and build the skills needed to lead with integrity and care. We believe white leaders are crucial players and allies in advocating for and advancing positive change.

✨Western Canada is home to approximately 1,191 Black-owned businesses.

Yet research into the experiences of Black business owners is very limited, and current policy interventions don’t go far enough to target the systemic discrimination faced by many.

That’s why RADIUS, the , and Black Entrepreneurs and developed a report exploring how we can better empower Black entrepreneurs.

Join us on the evening of Thursday, November 27 (location in downtown Vancouver, TBA) as we screen the premiere of a short demo for the feature documentary film “From the Salish Sea to Palestine.”

“Kindling Solidarity: From the Salish Sea to Palestine” is our fundraising event for the feature film.

Our event brings together Palestinian and Coast Salish kin (featured in the film) to talk about solidarity and shared struggles for liberation.

“From the Salish Sea to Palestine” weaves together powerful stories of artists whose intersecting visions for liberation, resistance, and deeply decolonized futures create hope in a time of global upheaval.

This film tells the story of shared struggles for freedom and survival from Indigenous communities — peoples bound together by histories of genocide, displacement, and unbroken ties to land and water.

Register here: https://kindling-solidarity-fundraiser2025.eventbrite.ca/

Suggested donation is $25, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

"What Indigenous truths do you know?" 🧡

This powerful question from Jada-Gabrielle Pape opened our new Migrant Systems Change Leadership program this month, and has our entire RADIUS team reflecting as we observe Truth and Reconciliation Day/Orange Shirt Day tomorrow.

Tomorrow specifically honours the survivors and children who never returned home from the Canadian residential school system and their descendants who continue to be impacted by the legacy. We deeply recognize the courage of Phyllis Webstad for telling her story, and for sparking a national movement to centre the experience of survivors.

As we live in so-called Canada, we are often exposed to stories and responses that happened due to colonization, yet Indigenous existence precedes and will have a future beyond colonial presence.

We invite our community to take this time to not only reflect, but to also take action. Our actions must be ongoing, beyond nationally-recognized days of commemoration.

Tomorrow, in addition to wearing orange shirts, we will be joining the One Day's Pay movement. Our team is donating to Urban Native Youth Association (https://unya.bc.ca/) to invest directly in Indigenous youth leadership. We also encourage you to join us in giving one day’s pay (or what you can afford) to Indigenous folks, organizations, movements.

You can choose to donate to the organizations as suggested by the One Day's Pay organization, directly to any Indigenous organization/movement/person/mutual aid, or even through the RADIUS Community Engagement Fund (which we are collecting to donate directly to UNYA). See https://donate.sfu.ca/page/176259/donate/1.

In our new strategic plan, you will notice that one of our team’s priorities is to use our power and privilege to align with the needs and invitations of Indigenous Peoples. We encourage our community to stay engaged with us, and keep us accountable in showing up for Indigenous Peoples.

In recognizing the interconnectedness of Indigenous struggles globally, we also honour the wisdom shared by our Refugee Livelihood Lab Manager Yara in her recent blog post, reflecting on Anishnaabe author Tanya Talaga's "The Knowing." View the post: https://radiussfu.com/on-histories-and-knowings/

Truth and reconciliation is every day work.
