BC History of Nursing Society Our mission is to discover, disseminate, and preserve BC's nursing history. Current Society members are mainly B.C.

In 1989 interested registered nurses banded together and formed the BC History of Nursing Professional Practice Group under the umbrella of the Registered Nurses Association of BC (now the College of Registered Nurses of BC.) The mission of the founders was to discover, disseminate, and preserve BC's nursing history. In 2008 the organization became registered under the Society Act of BC and is now

known as the BC History of Nursing Society (BCHNS). registered nurses & nursing students, but also include historians, researchers, RNs and nursing students from across Canada.
