Thank you to everyone who came out to the Learn to Train and Soccer for Life coaching workshops this past weekend. With 40 coaches in attendance it was great to see everyone in preparation for the season.

Led by our Assistant Technical Director Jordano Pinto, the on-field session helped provide everyone with an understanding of what goes into Being a VanU coach!

Special shout out to our Villains and Riptide players for coming out to help us with our sessions. ⚽️

Recently added to our 2026 schedule, we have a final week of summer camps taking place at the end of August! From Monday to Friday (August 24-28), join us at UHill Secondary School Turf for a week of fun to close out the summer ☀️

Meet Your VanU Coaches 🤝

Vancouver United FC is excited to announce Emily Nantel will continue as our First Kicks Coordinator!

Assistant Technical Director Jordano shared the following comment:

“Emily is an outstanding coach whose energy and enthusiasm are evident in every session she leads. With over 10 years of coaching experience, Emily holds her Canada Soccer C Licence and brings a wealth of knowledge to our club. In addition to leading our First Kicks program, Emily also coaches our U14 Division 1 Girls team and is deeply passionate about supporting the development of girls in soccer. She has a unique ability to create a positive, engaging environment for young First Kicks players that supports their confidence, skill development, and love for the game. We are incredibly fortunate to have Emily as part of our technical staff and leading the First Kicks program.”

Congratulations to former VanU BCSPL player Elliot Kim on his selection to the Canadian U15 National Team Camp 🌟

Elliot was a part of VanU from a young age, first as part of our House League before playing through to our BCSPL program and ultimately being selected to join the Whitecaps FC MLS Academy. We are proud to have played a part in Elliot’s development at VanU, which led him to be selected for the Whitecaps FC MLS Academy and now to Team Canada!

Meet your VanU Coaches 🤝

Vancouver United FC is excited to welcome Nathan Graziano as our new Technical Lead for Boys U11 - U14 Division 2 & 3 teams and U15 – U18 all Divisions.

Nathan brings a diverse coaching background across grassroots, development, and high-performance environments. He has worked with Mountain United/Burnaby FC, ICSF, West Vancouver School Program, and BC Soccer, coaching players from U5 through U18, including high-performance environments such as BCSPL and Provincial identification programs.

Nathan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and is currently completing his Concacaf B Licence. His experience includes curriculum development, player evaluation, technical and tactical coaching, video analysis, and coach mentorship. He is passionate about creating positive learning environments while helping players develop the skills, understanding, and confidence needed to reach their full potential.

Technical Director Gus Karvelis shared the following comment:

“We are very excited to welcome Nathan to our Technical Leadership team as our new Technical Lead for Boys U11–U18. Nathan brings a strong understanding of player development and a passion for helping players and coaches grow. His experience, knowledge, and commitment will be a valuable addition to our boys’ program, and we look forward to the positive impact he will have at Vancouver United.”
