So grateful to my sister-in-law Pam and my niece for taking the initiative to collect backpacks and school supplies from friends for children at an orphanage in Mandaluyong. TWECS will bring these gifts during our 2027 eye care mission in the Philippines.

And of course, Koa made sure to supervise from his chair. www.twecs.ca

We’ve collected a lot of photos and even more memories over the years ❤️ So we thought it was time to start sharing some of them. A little TWECS throwback.

We have more to give than we realize.

It’s people like Christian that stay with us. You meet so many people during these projects, each with their own story and their own reason for coming to see us. We were lucky enough to be a small part of Christian’s.

One of the hardest parts of every TWECS project is knowing that no matter how hard we try, we can’t help everyone. You leave carrying the faces of the people you met, wishing you had more glasses, more time, and the ability to reach just one more person. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how much need still exists, but also why we have to keep coming back.

Follow along to hear more about Christian’s journey with TWECS and what it’s really like to be part of an eye care project in the Philippines. From the people we meet to the places we travel, there’s so much more to the story than just giving out glasses. 👓

It all started with a promise.

TWECS began with Marina Roma-March and a promise she made to her grandmother , a promise that would grow into a mission to bring the gift of sight to people around the world.

What started as something deeply personal has become decades of service, thousands of donated eyeglasses, and countless lives touched through accessible eye care.

This is TWECS. This is what one promise can become. 🌎❤️

Imagine experiencing life through scratched lenses or without the glasses you need. 👓 What you no longer use could help someone see their world clearly again. Donate your old glasses to TWECS. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Japan Airlines and employees from other airlines for collecting donated eyeglasses in support of the Third World Eye Care Society of Canada (TWECS).

Today, we were honoured to welcome a JAL administrative supervisor to our clinic, who personally delivered the collection on behalf of the airline community. Their generosity and commitment to helping others will make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who lack access to vision care.

These glasses will be cleaned, sorted, and prepared for distribution during future TWECS outreach projects to bring clearer vision to people in underserved communities around the world.

We are deeply grateful to Japan Airlines and everyone who contributed to this wonderful donation. Every pair of glasses has the potential to change a life.

Thank you for helping us make a difference—one pair of glasses at a time. 👓✈️❤️ www.twecs.ca
