A Cultural Project
Cine Chile is a cultural project aimed at promoting and showcasing Chilean Cinematography in Canada. Since its inception several activities showcasing Chilean films have been carried out in Western Canada. In 2003 and 2004, a series of special screenings of Chilean films took place in Vancouver. In 2006, Vancouver and Victoria hosted the first Festival of Contemporary Chilean Ci
nema in Canada and INNOVA Technological Mission funded by CORFO Chile consisting of visiting Chilean film directors and producers. The second edition of the Festival took place in 2008 and had renowned director, actor and screenwriter Boris Quercia as special guest. In addition to these efforts, Chilean cinema has been constantly showcased in several film festivals such as Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), Vancouver Latin American Film Festival (VLAFF) , DOXA Documentary Festival and Out-on-the-Screen Festival.
