Bully Buddies

Bully Buddies We are a registered non-profit organization that formerly focused on Pit Bull Terriers and now are opening up to be an all-breed rescue.

We strive to get to know our foster dogs prior to adoption, in order to match them with responsible, loving and right fit homes.

Skittles-

Dogs- yes (but needs safe intros/nervous with new dogs until she knows they are safe).
Cats- Yes can likely live with as has low prey drive
Kids- Older only (10 plus) due to being shy/undersocialized- loves people however
House-trained- Yes just learned
Housing Needs- Needs to live in a house as barks when left alone and alarm barks at noises quite a bit right now (working on)

This little one is Skittles- she is about 11-12 months old, 22 pounds and best breed mix guess is corgi x pit x pug x chi? If you have ever dreamed of parenting a mini pit bull mix who looks like a permanent 3 month old puppy, she might be your jam. Skittles was seized along with 8 other dogs and she is behind on her socialization. She LOVES humans though and give her one treat and she is in your lap and your best friend. She gets scared of loud noises out and about and strange dogs get her worried (loves dogs once she knows they are safe). She loves affection and treats and is learning really fast that those scary things equal her fave things. Skittles has picked up house training quickly, is low energy for her age (likes leisure walks and short plays), and really smart/quick to learn. She's looking for a home (not an apartment unfortunately) with no young kids and where someone is home more often, as she gets real attached and also is going through an alarm barking at noises phase that her foster home is working on.

Skittles is working on crate and house training in her foster home and doing well with both. She is quite smart and picks things up fast- however her favourite job is cuddling. Skittles can go to a home with or without other animals. She will guard her food bowl from other dogs (not surprising since she lived in a small space with 8) but is a ok with humans around her food, and can take treats next to her dog sibling without issue. She is just learning about toys and definitely enjoying them too.

Skittles adoption fee is $600 to help cover her vet bills. She is spayed, tattooed, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, and on flea prevention treatment. She can be adopted to homes throughout BC. Please email [email protected].

Bully Buddies is a registered non-profit that has operated for over 20 years and now is semi-retired and takes in the occasional local shelter dog.

Kobe is a 7.5 year old, 13 pound poodle mix who is looking for his family. He is active, affectionate, and playful. He is being fostered in Vancouver but adoptable throughout BC. He loves other dogs and would love to be adopted to a home with other animals (has also lived with cats and a budgie). You can read more about Kobe here:

Congrats to Hazel from CARE Centre for officially being adopted by her foster parents Ross and Virginia- who continually open their home to one older dog in need at a time. Hazel has won the lottery in home and definitely is loving the good life!

Welcome to Bully Buddies Kobe! He is supposed to be a poodle x havanese but what else do you think is in his mix?

As of today he has a couple of pounds less fur/matts and started on some anxiety meds, and it’s really helping with his adjustment. Kobe is a 7 year old poodle mix who has lived in the same home his whole life (bought from a pet store as a puppy). He is a social butterfly who loves kids, dogs, cats and birds. He’s also an anxious fella who is understandably even more anxious with the big move! He will be getting neutered next week and we are working on house-training.

Welcome Hazel to Bully Buddies. She was brought in as a stray to the good folks at CARE Centre emaciated and covered in fleas.

She has gone in to foster care with a wonderful couple who adopt senior dogs and give them their best retirement lives. We doubt Hazel will be going anywhere but will give time for everyone to settle in and make sure they are a match.
