JUST ADDED: American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided by Still Interpreting Inc. for the duration of our event.

A friendly reminder about the upcoming joint webinar hosted by CHHA Vancouver & CHHA-BC on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm via Zoom.

Before tax season starts, Lisa Cairns, a Program Manager at Plan Institute, will provide an introduction to three key financial resources: the Disability Tax Credits, the Registered Disability Savings Plan, and the new Canada Disability Benefits, who qualifies for them, and how to get started.

Please bring your questions for the Q&A session!

CHHA Vancouver will hold our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, December 4th from 6:30-8:00 pm via Zoom.

The AGM will be followed by a presentation by Ted W. Clegg. Ted is the owner and operator of ALDS: The Advanced Listening Device Systems. For his presentation, Ted will discuss the different alerting systems and alarm clocks for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

CHHA Vancouver and CHHA BC will be hosting a virtual workshop “Assistive Listening Technology: What is available and What is appropriate?" presented by Tim Archer TOMORROW, Tuesday, September 23, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM via Zoom.

Tim will discuss the full range of assistive listening technology with a focus on the newest advancement: Bluetooth LE with Auracast.

Hello CHHA Vancouver friends and family! We’re really looking forward to this year’s Walk2Hear, happening TOMORROW, Sunday, September 14th at Jericho Beach Park!

Everyone who wants to support accessibility, local connection, education, and advocacy is welcome. It is a great opportunity to meet others in our community! CART and ASL will be provided.

Registration will take place from 1:00-1:30 pm. The walk/run will start at 1:30 pm after some very important stretches, of course!

Hello CHHA Vancouver friends and family! We’re really looking forward to this year’s Walk2Hear, happening in 10 days on Sunday, September 14th. Everyone who wants to support accessibility, local connection, education, and advocacy is welcome. It is a great opportunity to meet others in our community!

Walkers will enjoy a 2.2 km loop on wide trails and runners will do two laps for a total of 4.5 km.

Registration will take place from 1:00-1:30 pm. The walk/run will start at 1:30 pm after some very important stretches, of course!

Funds raised support the work of the Vancouver Branch of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, and donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt.

CHHA Vancouver Branch is a consumer-based, non-profit, self-help organization working with hard of hearing consumers and their support networks to decrease isolation and remove barriers to hearing loss by providing: supportive environments, education, resources, referrals, and advocacy. CHHA works cooperatively with professionals, service providers, government bodies, and provides information about hard of hearing issues and solutions.

Location: Jericho Beach Park - Meet at the grassy area by the Jericho East parking lot and Jericho pond.

Accessibility: CART captioning and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be present. There is an accessible washroom in the concession building. *Note that the event takes place on grassy areas / dirt paths.
Bring: Your own water bottle, walking/running shoes, weather appropriate clothing (rain or shine) and a spirit of fun!

Getting There:

Driving – Parking available at the Jericho East EasyPark paid lot, access off 4th Ave. or Point Grey Road. Some street parking in the area – check the street signage.

Cycling – Bike rack near the concession/washrooms building.

Transit – Type “Jericho East EasyPark” into Translink’s Trip Planner to find the best route from your location. The closest bus stop is a 5 minute walk away, at 4th Ave. and Wallace St. on the number 4 route. There are various other stops within a 10 minute walk.

Are you looking for practical ways to navigate life with hearing loss?

Join us for “Living Well with Hearing Loss”, an empowering workshop jointly hosted by CHHA-BC and CHHA Vancouver on Monday, June 2nd from 6:00 - 7:30 pm PST via Zoom.

Gael Hannan and Joy Borgonia will share strategies about improving life with hearing loss by sharing interpersonal communication tips, assistive technology, and available supports and programs.

ASL and CART will be provided.
