With sincere appreciation and respect, we would like to announce the retirement of our President and CEO, Mark Blandford, effective July 31, 2026.

Mark has been pivotal in developing our innovative care model, Home for Us, and the opening of our flagship facility, The Views, in Comox in July 2024 as we continue our expansion in northern BC through Prince George, Quesnel and Smithers.

Mark’s leadership and stewardship have guided Providence Living through dynamic times, ensuring that we continue to redefine seniors’ care across British Columbia.

“With Providence Living in such a strategically strong and exciting position, the time feels right for me to retire and give back to my family the time they’ve allowed me to pursue the work I love.” Mark Blandford said.

To assist with a smooth transition of leadership, Jennifer Gibson, Vice-President Quality, Practice and Major Delivery, will serve as Interim President and CEO beginning August 1 until the appointment of Mark’s successor.

Prince George’s newest care village is one step closer to completion as the roof approaches the final stage of construction on our latest innovative home, Providence Living at The Rivers.

This marks a major milestone for the new village, which will feature our groundbreaking care model, Home for Us.

This new village in Prince George is slated to open in April 2028, with further work underway to bring care villages to Quesnel in 2028 and Smithers in 2030 as Providence living looks to continue to redefine seniors’ care across BC.

Calling all cyclists 🚴‍♂️

We're looking for volunteers to join our rewarding Duet Bike Volunteer Program.

Through a specialty made bike, volunteers will be able to help our residents get outside and go for a ride to view some of the beautiful scenery around the Providence Living at The Views site in Comox.

This program helps promote spontaneity and companionship for our residents and forms part of our commitment to redefining seniors’ care through our innovative Home for Us model of care.
