Big love to our friends at Folke šŸ’ššŸŒ±

We’re spotlighting an exciting new way to support Growing Chefs! Located in Kitsilano, Folke is a plant-based restaurant that lets local, seasonal produce truly shine. Led by co-owners Chef Colin and Chef Pricilla—longtime supporters of Growing Chefs—Folke has been part of our community in so many ways, from From Farms to Forks to Chef Pricilla being part of the LunchLAB team as a sous chef!

Now, they’re giving back in a brand new way starting TODAY:

✨$5 from every 8-course tasting menu will be donated directly to Growing Chefs!

The tasting menu is the ultimate way to experience Folke—celebrating seasonal ingredients at their peak with dishes that are nourishing, refined, and deeply comforting!

Huge thanks to Chef Pricilla and the Folke team for continuing to champion our work. Go experience their incredible menu and support Growing Chefs at the same time!

If you attended our volunteer appreciation lunch last month, you may have had a taste of this delicious hummus. Did you know that the recipe actually comes from one of our superstar volunteers, Rokstan?

Rokstan’s recipe was initially made at one LunchLAB school, but has since been adopted by all LunchLAB kitchens! We shared the recipe in our most recent Chef’s Corner post, so now you can make the recipe at home!

We did it…together! šŸ’š

For 20 years, Growing Chefs has been connecting and empowering kids, chefs, and communities toward just and sustainable food practices. Last Sunday, at From Farms to Forks, we celebrated our milestone anniversary surrounded by the heartfelt community that makes this work possible.

And what a remarkable celebration it was! Whether you joined us in the room, donated an auction item, raised a glass, or helped behind the scenes—your generosity is helping thousands of kids find dignity, delight, and belonging through food.

Thanks to our incredible chefs, growers, guests, sponsors, and supporters, From Farms to Forks 2025 raised a record-breaking $168,250! šŸ†šŸŽ‰ That’s more than a fundraising milestone—it’s a movement. Those funds directly support our edible education programs, empowering kids to grow, cook, and share nourishing meals with their peers.

Our deepest gratitude to our presenting sponsor, RBC, whose leadership made this impact possible. Plus, a heartfelt appreciation to our full community of supporters:
Our Amazing Hosts: ARITZIA
Our Emcees: Fred Lee and Margaret Gallagher
Kitchen Sponsors: Capital West Partners, KPMG, Haywood Securities, and Vancity
Gala Sponsor: Connie Buna Personal Real Estate Corporation
In-Kind Sponsors: Artona, Mon Paris Patisserie, Pedersen’s, and Stittgen Fine Jewelry, and House of Knives
Our 2025 From Farms to Forks Gala Committee: Peter Blitz, Sophia Cheng, Leeann Froese, Fred Lee, Jennifer Lloyd, Katharine Manson, Amélie Nguyễn, Sheri Weichel, and Norrie Zaplatynsky

Thank you. With hearts full of gratitude and hope,
Growing Chefs
