The Ripple Effect in Action 🌍💛🏡

The Chou family spent many long years living in a makeshift tent on the edge of a garbage dump, raising their three daughters with no sanitation, running water, or safe shelter.

Ten years ago, they were given the life-changing opportunity to move into a home in a World Housing community, in partnership with Cambodia Children’s Fund. This changed the tragectory of their lives forever.

Today, they live in the Lenkov Village in Phnom Penh, with each of their three daughters studying hard with dreams of becoming a teacher, a doctor, and starting a family of their own.

What does World Housing do about local housing challenges?

While North America is one of the safest places to live, we know that many people in Canada and the United States face homelessness and extreme poverty.

That’s why we commit 20% of our annual donations to local housing charities across the continent, helping fund communities that align with our mission—to make change that will have generational impact on the lives of women, children, and families.

This commitment has helped fund communities like Vancouver’s Women & Families Centre, which has helped countless women lift themselves out of poverty, and build a better future for themselves and their children.

It starts with building relationships. We work alongside a trusted network of global NGOs who help us identify regions where we can make real, targeted, long-term impacts.

And sometimes, it starts with you, our supporters. Many philanthropists have strong ties to communities around the world, and with the right support, we can help lift those communities out of poverty together.

This commitment to homeownership extends far beyond their clients. With the belief that everybody deserves a place to call home, FNF Canada began their partnership with World Housing in order to help fund an exciting new addition to our Girls Safe House in Zambia.

With their support the Girls Safe House Annex was built giving 16 more young women a safe place to complete their education, and build a stronger future for themselves and their families.
