Vancouver is about to get a whole lot weirder! 💀🦇

The Oddities & Curiosities Expo is taking over the Vancouver Convention Centre this October 10–11, bringing together some of the strangest collections, creations and curiosities you can imagine.

From taxidermy and preserved specimens to skulls, antiques, creepy artwork and unusual collectibles, the event features unique vendors, live sideshow performances and even taxidermy classes.

Vancouver is about to get a whole lot more romantic. 🎤✨

Bruno Mars is bringing The Romantic Tour to BC Place for five massive shows on October 14, 16, 17, 20 and 21. Anderson .Paak will join him as DJ P*e .Wee for all five Vancouver dates.
The five-night run sets a new record for the most shows by a single artist on one tour at BC Place.

Canyon Frights is bringing spooky season back to North Vancouver this Friday. 🎃🌲

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park will transform for Halloween with the suspension bridge, river and surrounding forest glowing after dark. This year’s event also includes Bruno Mars-inspired displays along the Cliffwalk, themed skeletons, a Frightful Forest scavenger hunt, bat activities and live music throughout the afternoon and evening. 👻

Guests can also grab limited-time Halloween drinks and seasonal dishes at the Cliff House. Canyon Frights is included with regular admission or an Annual Pass, with reservations recommended during peak times.

Metro Vancouver’s housing market continued to slow in September. 🏠📉

A total of 1,717 homes changed hands during the month, down 8.4% from a year earlier and 25% below the 10-year seasonal average. The decline was largely driven by fewer apartment sales, while detached and attached home sales were slightly higher than last year.

The region’s benchmark home price also fell to $1,075,900, down 5.5% year-over-year. Meanwhile, inventory remained 24.3% above the 10-year average.

Every fall, one of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings completely changes colour. 🍂🏨

The Sylvia Hotel, overlooking English Bay, is covered in Virginia creeper that transforms from deep green to brilliant shades of red and orange as the seasons change.

Built in 1912, the historic West End landmark has been part of Vancouver’s waterfront for more than a century—and its fall transformation has become one of the city’s most recognizable seasonal sights. 🍁

As bears become more active across the region, sightings are popping up in neighbourhoods, parks and even playgrounds.

It’s a good reminder to keep your distance, secure garbage and other attractants, keep dogs leashed in bear areas, and never approach or feed wildlife.
