September 30 is a day to reflect, remember, and recommit.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, BCASW honours the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families, communities, and Nations who continue to carry the impacts of this history.

This day is a reminder that reconciliation is not symbolic. It requires ongoing learning, truth-telling, accountability, and action. It calls on all of us to listen deeply, confront the harms of colonialism, and commit to moving forward in ways that support justice, dignity, healing, and meaningful change.

At BCASW, we recognize that this work must continue beyond one day. We remain committed to reflection, relationship, and action as we work toward a more respectful and equitable future.
