Three years ago today, I said goodbye to my twin girls. It’s amazing how one date on the calendar can completely change you. You can feel like you’re doing okay, like you’ve learned to carry the weight of your grief… and then the anniversary arrives, and it hits you like a ton of bricks.
Death anniversaries are strange. The world keeps turning. The sun still shines. People laugh, celebrate, and go about their day, while you’re quietly reliving the hardest day of your life.
If you understand this feeling —whether it’s been three days, three years, or three decades, love leaves a lasting imprint.
Today, I’m thinking of every parent carrying the impossible weight of remembering while the rest of the world carries on as if it’s just another day.
Today, I’m remembering my girls, and I’m holding space for every parent carrying their babies in their hearts. 🤍
