Vancouver born and raised Randey Brophy has a Bachelor of Commerce and Economics from Simon Fraser University and has lived in Kitsilano for over 25 years. While raising his own 2 children in the community, Randey also has coached over 32 community youth teams over the last 17 years in soccer, baseball and softball. He was President of the Point Grey Youth Soccer Association from 2002-8 and a Dire
ctor of Vancouver Youth soccer from 2003-8. While president of Point Grey Soccer, Randey is credited with increasing membership in the community club from 950 to over 1300 boys and girls, establishing interlocking playing schedules between Vancouver clubs at the mini soccer level to allow all teams in all clubs a wider varety of teams to play and developing the first program to include disabled children in Vancouver community youth soccer. During his 6 year term as President, Point Grey Youth soccer teams also won numerous Vancouver and District championships and 3 Provincial championships. Randeys credited with expanding the Point Grey Soccer club and making it more inclusive,while at the same time providing a club environment where all children in the community could play and enjoy soccer to the best of their ability. While on the board of Vancouver Youth Soccer, Randey made the successful recommendation to Vancouver Parks Board that the cities proposed 2 new artificial turf fields be located, one of the east side of the city, at Vancouver Technical school and one on the west side of the city at Point Grey high school. Randey then spearheaded local soccer community fundraising over over $400,000 to make this happen. He gave the opening speech, on behalf of Vancouver Youth soccer, when the Point Grey artificial turf field opened in the spring of 2006. Randey has coached over 32 teams and 600 boys and girls over the last 17 years in the Kitsilano, Point Grey, Dunbar, False Creek and Kerrisdale communities. Having recently completed a successful 31 year career as a Senior Marketing Manager at TELUS in 2010, Randey completed his real estate licensing program at UBC shortly therafter and now brings the same level of passion and commitment to helping existing and new neighbours with their real estate needs.
