The National Youth Parliament is underway in Canberra this week, with 150 youth representatives from across Australia experiencing our democratic and parliamentary system. One of them, Rhea Muherji, Youth Member for Berowra, is pictured here with MP Julian Leeser. She's a very busy and committed next-generation leader, including being Treasurer of the Cherrybrook Technology High School Z Club. What an experience for Rhea, and other emerging leaders!

Gendered Impacts of the NDIS Reform Bill

WwWA August Member's Forum
Wednesday, 19 August 2026 12pm-12:45pm

Join the conversation with Women With Disabilities Australia CEO Sophie Cusworth to examine the gendered impacts of the Government’s NDIS Reform Bill and why NDIS reform is fundamentally a gender equality issue.

Hear Sophie's views on how proposed changes to access, eligibility and supports risk deepening existing inequalities for women, girls and gender-diverse people with disability, including through increased exposure to violence and isolation, barriers to health and disability support, reduced economic security, and greater reliance on unpaid care.

You will understand more about the gendered impacts, build safe and accessible supports outside the NDIS first, and ensure people with disability are genuine partners in reform. It's an opportunity to call for reform that is gender-responsive, evidence-based and properly sequenced.
