Last week, BCHA President & CEO Paul Hawes joined leaders from Destination BC, Indigenous Tourism BC, Tourism Kamloops, Destination Vancouver and other tourism organizations at the BC Business House Tourism Showcase in Vancouver.

The event highlighted the tremendous investment opportunities across BC’s tourism and hospitality sectors, showcasing the projects, partnerships, and experiences that are taking place here.

A special thank you to Minster Anne Kang Anne Kang for addressing attendees, and to the Government of British Columbia for bringing together such a strong cross-section of business, tourism, and hospitality leaders.

As hotels head into the busy summer season, we're revisiting a powerful reminder from the BCHA Summit's opening keynote speaker Michel Falcon.

"Our job as leaders is to serve the purpose of our employees. That is how you get them to stay. That is how you get them to grow."

A stop at was a highlight and a reminder of how fortunate we are to be a part of an industry that showcases the beauty of our country everyday.

🏨 From front desks to destinations, it all starts with hospitality, and this , we’re celebrating the people behind every great experience.

Fresh off the energy of the BCHA Summit, we’re reminded that it’s communities, cultures, and the people who welcome us in that make travel meaningful, especially Indigenous-led experiences that deepen every connection.

🤝 Tourism powers connection

That’s today’s theme for , and it is something we see across BC every day.

From conferences and festivals to sport events and meetings, tourism and hospitality bring people together in meaningful ways. Across the province, our delegates help shape these experiences as they travel, connect, and engage with local communities.

When people travel for events, they do more than attend. They contribute, connect, and experience a destination firsthand.
