What a wonderful week at Marpole Oakridge Family Place!

Families kicked off the week with Musical Mondays alongside our wonderful volunteer, Katherine. Thank you, Katherine, for sharing your love of music with us and bringing so much joy to our families!
The rest of the week was filled with fun, creativity, and movement. Families enjoyed making delicious banana, apple, and raspberry ice cream, getting active with soccer in the Multi-Purpose Arena, and watching a theatrical puppet show featuring the classic story of The Hare and the Tortoise, performed by our facilitators Jolie and Daesan.

We also got moving and grooving during our Hip Hop Movement sessions with Facilitator Jolie. It was wonderful to see families participating, having fun, and expressing themselves through movement!
A special thank you to our wonderful volunteer Maddy for her kind support and dedication over the past two weeks. We truly appreciate the time, care, and positive energy you have shared with our families and team!

Thank you to all the families who joined us this week. We look forward to another exciting week of programming as we make the most of the final weeks of summer and begin preparing for back to school in September.

Join us next week for more fun, learning, creativity, and connection at Marpole Oakridge Family Place!

What a wonderful way to accentuate our World C.U.P. global summer programming at MOFP!

Families enjoyed baking delicious chocolate brownies, which were a big hit after an exciting session of soccer ball fun and bowling-pin challenges! A special thank you to our amazing Facilitators Jolie and Daesan, along with Volunteer Maddy, for leading such engaging and energetic activities this week, including the puppet show and a Hip Hop and Flamenco dance circle.

We were also delighted to welcome Naomi, Coordinator of the Institute for Ecology at Douglas College, who shared a fascinating presentation about Indigenous plants found throughout British Columbia. Thank you, Naomi, for sharing your knowledge and helping us connect with the natural world around us. From all of us at MOFP—we loved having you!

The summer fun continues next week, and we can’t wait to welcome our families back for more learning, laughter, creativity and connection!

Here’s to making more wonderful summer memories together at MOFP!
