Trout Lake Community Centre

Trout Lake Community Centre A place of connection in a spectacular location! Jointly operated by the volunteer-driven TLCCA.
(532)

Did you know that there has been a community centre next to Trout Lake since 1963? That original building was renovated in the 1970s and the Centre was entirely redeveloped in 2012. Today, Trout Lake Community Centre (TLCC) is a light-filled complex with stunning views of John Hendry Park, the lake and the North Shore Mountains. It is jointly operated by the Vancouver Park Board and the Trout Lake

Community Centre Association, a non-profit incorporated back in 1956. Together these partners offer more than 200 programs for all ages including art, dance, fitness, skating lessons, yoga, day camps, drop-in sports, indoor cycling, cooking classes, various martial arts and more. Our mandate is to bring together our community to provide accessible recreational, social, educational, and cultural opportunities that promote and develop individual, family and community well being.

For PRIDE month, join us for the screening of the documentary film The Fruit Machine.

The Fruit Machine exposes a dark chapter in Canadian history. From the 1950s until 1996, the Canadian government systematically hunted and interrogated 2SLGBTQI+ people in the RCMP, military, and civil service. An estimated 9,000 people were discriminated against, harassed, and often fired – in what is known as the LGBT Purge.

Join us for a screening followed by Q&A with survivors from the LGBT Purge Fund board: military survivors Martine Roy and Diane Pitre (who appear in the film), and RCMP survivor retired S/Sgt Wayne Davis. Members from Out on Patrol will be in attendance and light refreshments will be served.
