Nesika Cultural Heritage Society

Nesika Cultural Heritage Society “NESIKA”: (ne si’-ka) Chinook jargon meaning “us” or “our”. We also believe that this preservation needs to come from within communities.

The Nesika Cultural and Heritage Society was created to help develop capacity for BC First Nations to protect their land, culture and heritage. We believe that the protection of Aboriginal Title and Rights is bound to the preservation of culture and heritage. Many communities may see what needs to be done, but do not yet have the capacity to take these projects on. This is where Nesika comes in. W

e will help communities build their capacity through education, workshops, research, conferences, communications and community driven partnerships. It is a society for all of us!
