Our Mission is to unite our industry through various events, educational seminars & social media. Our Design Community is made up of many amazing and talented people. As such we have formed The Vancouver Society of Interior Design. We will continue putting on events within the Community and promoting our fellow design organizations and members. We will be working along side of IDIBC, IDC, NEWH, Designer Happy Hour, NKBA, AIA and any other parts of the design community willing to partner with us, to promote Design in Vancouver. Our goal is to bring the Design Community together and establish a place for members, non-members, students, industry partners and anyone else to network, have fun and get to know and support each other. We hope that you will choose to support our community in some way. Volunteers needed… ENGAGE – PARTICIPATE – CONNECT! This year, VSID × IDS came together to celebrate the creativity and talent of the incredible Interior Design students within our community through a tote bag design contest.

We’re thrilled to introduce Andrea Mercado, the recent BCIT Interior Design Bachelor graduate behind this year’s winning design.

Andrea’s work is inspired by curvilinear design, organic forms, and the balance between functionality and purpose. During her studies, she had the opportunity to spend a semester in Germany, travelling throughout Europe and experiencing new cultures, architecture, and perspectives that continue to influence her creative practice.

Beyond interior design, Andrea is also passionate about painting and drawing, with a particular love for portraiture, natural elements, and architecture.

We’re proud to showcase Andrea’s winning design on the tote bags that will be gifted to the first 500 attdndees at IDS, a celebration of an emerging talent within our design community.

Congratulations, Andrea! And thank you to everyone who participated in the contest and shared their creativity with us.

We’re excited to continue creating opportunities that support, celebrate, and connect the next generation of designers.

✨ Help us choose this year’s Holiday Party theme! ✨

VSID’s Annual Holiday CEU & Tabletop Event is coming up, and this year, we want YOU to help set the mood! 🎉

Designers, creatives, students, we want to hear your ideas! What theme would make you excited to get dressed up, celebrate, connect, and have a little fun with our community?✨

We’ll be gathering at the beautiful Fairmont Pacific Rim, and as always, we’re looking for a creative theme to make the evening extra memorable.

Over the years, we’ve celebrated:
💎 Shine Bright Like a Diamond
❄️ Winter Opulence: Faux Fur & Velvet
✨ White & Gold: Festive Glitz, Glamour & Sparkles
🎀 Wrapped in Bows

So… what should this year’s theme be?

Put on your creative thinking caps and share your ideas with us in the comments! We may just see your suggestion come to life. 🥂✨
