Our Mission is to unite our industry through various events, educational seminars & social media. Our Design Community is made up of many amazing and talented people. As such we have formed The Vancouver Society of Interior Design. We will continue putting on events within the Community and promoting our fellow design organizations and members. We will be working along side of IDIBC, IDC, NEWH, De

signer Happy Hour, NKBA, AIA and any other parts of the design community willing to partner with us, to promote Design in Vancouver. Our goal is to bring the Design Community together and establish a place for members, non-members, students, industry partners and anyone else to network, have fun and get to know and support each other. Meet Hallie Bisschop
 2026 VSID Bursary Recipient (BCIT) Bachelor of Interior Design, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)

Hallie Bisschop is the recipient of the 2026 VSID Bursary (BCIT), recognized for her excellent academic achievement and meaningful community involvement throughout her studies at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Passionate about human-centred and sustainable design, Hallie is inspired by the ways thoughtfully designed environments can strengthen relationships, foster connection, and enrich everyday experiences.

Her capstone project, The Hive, reflects her commitment to creating spaces that promote community, well-being, and meaningful human interaction. Hallie’s portfolio also showcases a diverse range of work in multi-residential, hospitality, and workplace design, demonstrating her creativity, technical skill, and thoughtful approach to designing spaces that put people first.

Congratulations to Hallie on this well-deserved recognition, VSID is proud to celebrate her accomplishments and looks forward to following her continued contributions to the interior design profession.

Meet Emily Mckenzie-Djordjevich
 2026 VSID Bursary Recipient (KPU) Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours), Kwantlen Polytechnic University

Emily Mckenzie-Djordjevich is the recipient of the 2026 VSID Bursary (KPU), recognized for her outstanding leadership, volunteerism, and dedication to the interior design community throughout her studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

A concept-driven designer, Emily is passionate about creating hospitality-focused environments that foster connection, celebrate local culture, and create memorable experiences through thoughtful, sustainable design.

Her capstone project, Vitesse, reimagines rail travel as a boutique hospitality experience, reflecting her interest in storytelling, user experience, and meaningful design. Emily’s portfolio also showcases a diverse body of work, including hospitality concepts, photo styling, and visual storytelling that demonstrate her creativity and versatility as an emerging designer.

🤠✨ Best Dressed Contest Alert! ✨🌻

Dust off your boots and bring your best Southwestern style because we’re hosting a Best Dressed Contest at this year’s VSID Lawn Bowling Event.

Whether you’re rocking gingham, denim, breezy summer dresses, cowboy boots, a classic cowboy hat, or just adding a few Western-inspired accessories, we want to see your take on our Southwestern BBQ theme. Have fun with it and show us your style.

🏆 A prize will be awarded to the attendee who best captures the spirit of the theme.

📸 We’ll also have a professional photographer on-site throughout the event, capturing all the fun, friendly competition, and community connections. So come camera ready, it’s the perfect opportunity to show off your look and be featured in our event photos!
