CLICK - Contributing to Lives of Inner City Kids

When Covid-19 paused their 2020 season, Vancouver’s Traffic Ultimate found a new focus. The team spent their time off the field learning about racism. They held anti-racism discussions and shared resources with their online community.

Then they took action. The team hosted a fundraiser for CLICK, which supports kids through out-of-school care, food programs, literacy, camps, sports, and the arts.
The event featured Ultimate World Champion Chief Lara Mussell Savage of the Skwah First Nation. Over 400 people tuned in from across North America. Together they raised more than $2,000 for CLICK. 🥏💛

Decked out in pink 96 women golfers recently swung their way to raising $70,000 for CLICK. The first Flamingle Classic was held at the Musqueam Golf and Learning Academy (https://www.facebook.com/MusqueamGolf https://www.instagram.com/musqueamgolf/) and was a resounding and super fun success.

Knowing that 20% of Vancouver children live in poverty inspired the women to golf and donate to help these children.

The women heard from Jennifer Ju at a post-game dinner at the Musqueam course. Now a teacher, Jennifer grew up in poverty in the Downtown Eastside and helped by CLICK, coaches and other mentors achieved her goals.

Huge thanks from the CLICK team to Judy McHardy, who conceived and organized the event, and all the volunteers who made the afternoon run so smoothly. Also, many thanks to all the women who golfed and donated with such enthusiasm to help CLICK help kids.
