TOY STORY 5 - Celebrating Father’s Day the Pixar Way

VES members and guests marked Father’s Day with a special 3D screening of Toy Story 5, followed by an engaging behind-the-scenes Q&A with the filmmakers.

Guests enjoyed cupcakes, hot chocolate, and coffee while connecting with colleagues and friends in a warm Father’s Day gathering that celebrated the enduring themes of Toy Story — family, friendship, and connection.

The panel featured an outstanding lineup of industry talent:
Thomas Jordan — Visual Effects Supervisor
Matt Aspbury — VES Award-winning Director of Photography
Stephen Marshall — VES Award, Annie Award & Technical Achievement Academy Award-winning Effects Supervisor
Peter Demarest — HPA Award-winning Compositing Lead
David Eberle — Technical Achievement Academy Award-winning Tools Lead

The discussion was moderated by David Tanaka, VES Fellow and global VES Board 1st Vice Chair, offering thoughtful insight into the craft and collaboration behind the film.

Special thanks to Capilano University for their hospitality, and to Pixar and Walt Disney Studios for making this event possible.
