Tikva Housing celebrates the fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and caregivers who provide love, guidance, and support to their families and communities.

Every day, we see how strong relationships help create stable, caring homes where people can thrive. We are grateful for the many fathers and father figures whose dedication, kindness, and presence make a lasting difference in the lives of those around them.

From all of us at Tikva Housing, we wish you a happy Father's Day filled with family, connection, and meaningful moments.

You may have seen them in Richmond, Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, or along the SkyTrain.

Now, our anti-antisemitism billboard campaign is making headlines.

As Vancouver welcomes the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup, Jewish Federation of British Columbia (JFBC) is using this moment to remind people that standing against antisemitism is not only a Jewish responsibility. It is a shared one.

Our CEO Ezra Shanken said it clearly: each of us has a responsibility to stand up against antisemitism and all forms of hate.

Thank you to JewBelong and Pattison Outdoor Advertising for helping bring this message into public spaces across Metro Vancouver.

We recognize the resilience, contributions and experiences of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in our community and beyond, and we believe that dignity, belonging and affordable housing should be accessible to all.

Happy from all of us at Tikva Housing. 🌈

This Canadian Jewish Heritage Month, we are proud to recognize the lasting legacy of the Roadburg family and their extraordinary contributions to Metro Vancouver and the Jewish community.

Born in Vancouver in 1913, Al Roadburg built Richmond Steel Recycling into one of B.C.’s leading businesses before expanding into real estate through Broadway Properties. Through long-term investment in rental housing, commercial spaces and community development, the family helped shape neighbourhoods across Greater Vancouver while providing stability for generations of residents and businesses.

That legacy of leadership and philanthropy continues today through the work of the Al Roadburg Foundation and the Ronald S. Roadburg Foundation. Their generosity continues to create meaningful impact across the community, including support for affordable housing initiatives such as Tikva's Al & Lola Roadburg Residences and Ronald S. Roadburg Residences.

We are honoured to celebrate the Roadburg family’s enduring legacy of charitable giving, community leadership and affordable housing.

For Canadian Jewish Heritage Month, Tikva Housing is proud to recognize the lasting impact of those whose vision and generosity helped shape our communities by creating housing opportunities in the region.

Ben and Esther Dayson arrived in Vancouver in 1949 and completed their first apartment building in 1951, going on to develop some of BC’s first high-rise residential towers, including the first in the City of Richmond.

For more than 15 years, the Dayson family, the Dayhu Group of Companies and the Dayhu Family Foundation have supported Tikva Housing and our mission to build innovative and affordable housing solutions, including our Rent Relief Program.

We are honoured that the founders' legacy continues through Tikva's Ben & Esther Dayson Residence and grateful for the family’s enduring commitment to strengthening our community.

We at Tikva Housing offer our sincere condolences to the family and that many people whose lives were touched by Daniel Pekarsky z"l.

It is with great sadness that we note the passing of our Past President, Daniel Pekarsky z”l, who served as the second President of our Federation from 1989 to 1991.

Dan helped lay the foundation of the community we steward today. He led with thoughtfulness, quiet responsibility, and a deep love for Jewish community, mentoring future leaders and staying focused on what we were building together.

Our hearts are with his family. May his memory be for a blessing.
