"I'm very grateful for MP for helping me get back on my feet"

With an unstable family life, Black took on the responsibility of caring for his siblings at a young age. When this eventually took a toll on him, Black began his crime cycle. When released, despite his willingness to work, he was often overlooked due to his parole status and lack of certifications.

When Black joined Mission Possible, he quickly noticed improvements in his confidence, communication, and leadership skills. Black has now secured a role as Clean Team Lead, guiding associate teams safely down the Hastings Street route, one of the busiest Clean Team contracts.

What a beautiful day in the Downtown Eastside! ☀️ Thank you to everyone who joined us for Mission Possible's 5th Annual Community Clean Up Day!

Together, we collected 60 bags of garbage and raised over $12,000 to support Mission Possible's Employment Readiness Program - helping more folks like Johnson find a renewed sense of dignity and purpose!

We are especially grateful to our Gold Sponsors, Strand, FortisBC, and BC Maritime Employers Association, and to our Bronze Sponsor, Wanson Group. We're also grateful to Cansing Choir Vancouver, Delta Hotels, and JJBean for their contributions.

We're so proud of the meaningful impact we were able to make together, and we look forward to doing it all again next year!

June is National Indigenous History Month and Pride Month! This month, we celebrate and acknowledge the diversity and resilience of the 2SLGBTQ+ and Indigenous communities.

We recognize the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis who have stewarded this land and we reflect on the ongoing impacts of colonization that continue today.

We also celebrate and stand in solidarity with the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the continued fight for equality and their rights to live and love freely.

It is critical that we continue supporting and uplifting the voices and people that make our communities as special and beautiful as they are, this month and every month! 🧡
