Mazel Tov to Ricki Thal, our new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of the Louis Brier Jewish Aged Foundation is pleased to warmly welcome Ricki Thal as our new Executive Director. Ricki brings extensive experience in fundraising and community engagement, paired with a thoughtful, people-centered approach that reflects the values of our organization.

She joins us from the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, where she served as Associate Director, Campaign, overseeing both the Women’s and Men’s Philanthropy divisions. In this role, Ricki cultivated meaningful relationships with donors and volunteers, strengthened community engagement, and helped grow support for vital initiatives. Her accomplishments include securing major gifts, expanding donor networks, and leading impactful and successful community events.

What distinguishes Ricki is her genuine commitment to building connections, her ability to listen, engage, build trust, and inspire meaningful involvement. She brings a deep appreciation for our mission and a strong understanding of the importance of dignity, compassion, and community, especially in supporting the care of our seniors.

Ricki’s leadership will play an important role in strengthening and advancing the Foundation’s efforts to enhance programs, services, and the overall experience of the residents of the Louis Brier Home and Hospital.

We are thrilled to welcome Ricki and look forward to the energy, insight, and lasting impact she will bring to the Foundation and the community we are proud to serve.

Today, we observe Yom HaZikaron, honoring both the fallen soldiers of Israel and the victims of terrorism.

Their lives remind us of the cost of conflict and the importance of unity, resilience, and remembrance. We stand together in tribute, holding space for their stories and the legacy they leave behind.

May we continue to remember, and may their memory live on.

On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, pay tribute to the courageous individuals who resisted its atrocities, and stand together in remembrance and reflection.

We recognize the 22 Holocaust survivors who call Louis Brier home, their resilience and stories inspire us every day.

May we always remember and never forget.
