Through the generosity of our donors, corporate partners, and other foundati

ons, we are able to help our residents, Jewish and non-Jewish, receive a level of care that betters their quality of life. We aim to give them a life of dignity and with the comfort that they most deserve.

Today, we proudly celebrate a remarkable milestone in the history of Louis Brier Home & Hospital.

On July 7, 1946, Louis Brier opened its doors with a vision that continues to inspire us 80 years later.

For eight decades, Louis Brier has been far more than a long-term care home. It has been a place where compassion is lived every day, where dignity is protected, where Jewish values and traditions are honoured, and where generations of residents, families, staff, physicians, volunteers, companions, students, donors, and community partners have come together to create something truly extraordinary.

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we honour those who had the vision to build this organization, those who dedicated their lives to caring for others, and everyone who continues that legacy today. Their commitment has shaped Louis Brier into a recognized leader in long-term care and a place that thousands of people have proudly called home, workplace, learning environment, and community.

This milestone is not simply about looking back. It is about recognizing how far we have come while looking confidently toward the future. Together, we remain committed to innovation, excellence, person-centred care, education, research, and ensuring every resident continues to live with dignity, purpose and respect.

To commemorate this special occasion, our CEO, Dr. David Keselman, has recorded a heartfelt video message celebrating Louis Brier's 80th anniversary while also reflecting on his own 10 years of leadership and service to the organization.
