We are a non-profit organization founded under the auspices of the Society Act of British Columbia. DanceSport BC fosters friendship, understanding, and communication among dancers, through the development and enforcement of rules and regulations to ensure fair play, good sportsmanship, and most important of all, to enjoy ballroom dancing. Some of our activities include:
Representing the interest
s of its members through affiliation, communication and co-operation with Canada Dancesport and other regional organizations within Canada. Promoting ballroom dancing throughout the Lower Mainland by hosting the Robson Square Summer Dance Series - Last weekend of June to the last Friday before Labour Day

Hosting BC's premier annual dancesport competition - the Snowball Classic. http://www.snowballclassic.com/
Provide formal recognition and approval (“sanctioning”) of competitions throughout BC, as well as the BC Closed Adult and Senior I Standard and Latin Championships as well as the BC Open BC Closed Adult and Senior I Standard and Latin Championships. Also, through the Canadian Closed Championship Qualifier, sending our representatives to compete for the title of the Canadian representatives to the World Championships. Maintaining a register of all DanceSport competitors within BC and to draw up and maintain a rating system for all such competitors.
