Are you an aspiring s*x educator? Are you interested in building a specialized skill set for teaching comprehensive s*xual health education?

SHEC is a virtual certification program designed to prepare individuals to deliver comprehensive s*xual health education sessions to a variety of audiences in the public and private sectors.

Applications for the 2027 cohorts of our SHEC Program are open now! Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis—this means that we review applications as they arrive and offer make decisions about applications as they are received. If you’re interested in our SHEC Program, we encourage you to apply early! Once the cohort is full, applications will close and spots can fill up quickly.

🎂 Happy 20th birthday to our SHEC (S*xual Health Educator Certification) Program!

It’s hard to believe that SHEC is already 20 years old—time really flies! Call or email S*x Sense to ask a nurse or s*x educator directly! S*x Sense is a free, pro-choice, s*x-positive, and confidential service. You can reach us from 9am to 9pm, Monday to Friday by calling 1-800-739-7367 (throughout BC) or 604-731-7803 (in the Lower Mainland). To email us, head to s*xsense.org and type your questions in the email form on the page!

Options operates s*xual health clinics all throughout BC! Our clinics provide s*xual health care, including birth control products and information about them.

Contraceptive products are free for people in BC with MSP. For people who do not have MSP, we offer low cost contraceptive options—a list of products and pricing can be found on our site (link in bio).

Options provides tailored presentations on a variety of s*xual health topics! We’re known for our dynamic, fact-based presentations for K-12 students but have also created custom programs for people with special needs, youth in custody, parents, Indigenous Peoples, nurses, teachers, and more!

Over the past year, we’ve consulted youth and service providers across BC about how youth s*xual health services should be offered moving forward. These findings led to the co-design of a strengthened youth s*xual health model that will be piloted in two communities in the fall.

For those who didn’t see our recent reel, we’ve received a few calls to our S*x Sense phone line about scams involving medication abortion pills. Some scam websites have been recommended by AI chatbots, so please remember to always double check your AI results!
