“BC Women’s NICU had the equipment to give Tru life-saving care. Today, she is healthy and thriving with a bright future.” – Chantal + Rob Beare, Tru’s parents

Chantal and Rob’s baby, Tru, was born weighing just one pound and spent 98 days connected to life-saving equipment in BC Women’s NICU. Today, their daughter is healthy and thriving.

BC Women’s NICU is one of North America’s largest neonatal intensive care units and each year cares for critically ill newborns across BC and the Yukon. This is where BC’s tiniest and most fragile patients receive specialized, life-changing care.

We're incredibly grateful to Huer Foods for their generous $35,562 donation, made possible thanks to partners and customers who supported their successful Sweet Beginnings campaign.

“We’re deeply grateful to Huer Foods, their retail partners and customers for their generous support,” said Cally Wesson, President + CEO of BC Women’s Health Foundation. “Philanthropy is vital in bringing life-saving technology, like the dedicated NICU MRI scanner, to BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre. This equipment will enable the world-leading neonatal team at BC Women’s to provide more precise treatment and exceptional care for the smallest and most vulnerable patients across BC and the Yukon.”

No matter where someone lives in British Columbia, they deserve access to trusted information, specialized care, and the support they need to navigate their health with confidence.

At BC Women’s Health Foundation, we are supporting the reach of BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre and the Women's Health Research Institute beyond a single building — connecting communities across the province to leading care, research, education, and expertise.

Historically, menopause is an under-researched, underserved area of women’s health. Those in need of care in our province can benefit from a collaborative approach that spans multi-disciplines and locations. That’s why we’re supporting care for women across British Columbia.

Help Shape Better Menopause Care in Canada: Participate in the Can-RISE Study

Menopause is a major life transition, yet many people face it with limited information, support, and access to care. That’s why we are supporting the Partnership for Women’s Health Research Canada’s Can-RISE study, a national initiative exploring the real-life impact of perimenopause and menopause across Canada.

We invite you to complete a 20–30 minute online survey about how perimenopause, menopause, and related symptoms affect daily living and wellbeing.

Take the survey here: https://redcap.link/a1rar9aq

This study is led by Dr. Lori Brotto (Women’s Health Research Institute, British Columbia) and a team of Canadian researchers. Together, they are advancing equitable, evidence-based menopause care in Canada.
