The Disability Foundation

The Disability Foundation The Disability Foundation fosters meaningful experiences for people with disabilities. For more than 25 years in Metro Vancouver, throughout B.C.

and across Canada, we support our affiliated societies. After becoming quadriplegic, Sam Sullivan met with a BC engineer who volunteered to devise solutions to some of his daily obstacles. That partnership grew into the Disability Foundation -- six societies whose influence could reach entire communities.

Our friends at Spinal Cord Injury BC are hiring two Outreach and Service Connector positions.
If this sounds like a good fit for you or someone you know, check out the opportunity and apply by August 15.

Use your journey to help others navigate theirs. We're looking for two people to help people with SCI and their families find connection and information at SCI BC.

We are hiring two Outreach and Service Connectors. One based in Metro Vancouver (remote or in-office, with occasional in-person work at GF Strong), and the other could be remote or in one of our offices in BC. You’re an excellent candidate if you have personal experience with SCI, you’re familiar with peer support at SCI BC or elsewhere, and you are comfortable offering support and information by phone.

As an Outreach and Service Connector, you’ll help connect new SCI BC members, people with new injuries, and peers and family members referred to our services through personal outreach and phone-based follow up. You’ll help identify needs and interests, connect them to local activities, and find useful information and resources.

Three quarters of our staff and volunteers live with an SCI or similar disability, and we believe lived experience is one of our greatest strengths. If you're someone who loves meeting people, working with people, and helping others feel connected and supported, we'd love to hear from you!
