➡️ NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS: The Video Games Business Development Program is a partnership between Creative BC and Canada Media Fund designed to support the success and growth of B.C.-based game studios.

Applying companies must have a significant track record of production in the province, and proposals must be business-focused with plans for ongoing content production and capacity building.

These plans must be achievable, appropriately resourced, and structured to obtain the best economic outcomes from public funding.

🏳️‍🌈 B.C. q***r filmmakers take the spotlight at the 38th Vancouver Q***r Film Festival!

Running September 10–20 in theatres and September 21–27 online, VQFF returns with 87 features and shorts under this year’s theme, “A Seat at the Table.”

Among the lineup are 12 short films from B.C.’s 2SLGBTQIA+ filmmakers, spanning drama, documentary, comedy and experimental storytelling while showcasing the range of q***r filmmaking across the province. 🎬

Our video game spotlight features Remy Siu, founder and creative director of Sunset Visitor 斜陽過客, the Vancouver studio behind the award-winning 1000xRESIST.

From its predominantly Asian Canadian cast and bilingual Cantonese-English storytelling to its exploration of family, identity and the Hong Kong diaspora, 1000xRESIST shows what can happen when distinctly local voices are given space to create.
