Last week, our Board of Directors came together in person to discuss AFP Greater Vancouver’s goals and priorities for the year ahead. Together, we reviewed our key program areas, explored opportunities for growth, and ensured our plans align with AFP Global’s strategic vision. 🌍

One theme surfaced again and again throughout our discussions: the incredible dedication of our volunteers and committees. Their time, expertise, and commitment help bring our goals to life and strengthen the learning and connections we provide to the fundraising community across Greater Vancouver.

Thank you to our Board members, committee volunteers, and community leaders who continue to make AFP Greater Vancouver a thriving and impactful chapter. We are excited for what’s ahead and look forward to another year of learning, collaboration, and growth together. 💙💪

Meet Neil McEachern! 👋

Neil currently serves as Chair of AFP Canada's Government Relations Committee and previously volunteered as VP of Government Relations for the AFP Greater Vancouver Chapter. 🍁

Through his volunteer experience, Neil was able to combine his passion for advocacy and politics with meaningful impact for the fundraising profession across British Columbia and Canada.

“Joining our chapter’s government relations committee allowed me to explore an area of personal interest – politics – and empowered me with the ability to advocate for our entire sector. Through supporting and then eventually leading the Greater Vancouver chapter’s committee, I was able to join and learn from the larger AFP Canada GR Committee. Ultimately during my time, our chapter strengthened its connections across all levels of government, but particularly on the provincial level.

When much of work is centred on supporting a specific cause or mission, its nice to be able to make a difference for the entire sector. The work of Government Relations Committee was also truly varied ranging from securing a proclamation for National Philanthropy Day from the City of Richmond’s Mayor and Council to meeting with the province’s Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits to participating in the province’s budget consultation process. Join today and help continue to make a difference not only for members of our chapter but fundraisers in BC.”
