RSCDS-Vancouver

RSCDS-Vancouver The Vancouver Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society has nearly 300 members. Full information at rscdsvancouver.org

Of all the different types of national dance, Scottish Country Dancing is surely one enjoyed by a large variety of peoples and cultures. Flourishing Scottish Country Dance clubs can be found all over the world, and not just in those countries which became the most important destinations for Scottish emigrants. It's colourful and lively, and the music is irresistible. The Royal Scottish Country Dan

ce society was formed in Edinburgh in 1923. From its earliest days, the Society has sought to promote, preserve, and to maintain the standards set by its founders. In addition, the RSCDS has always been anxious to emphasize the social character of Scottish Country Dancing, offering plenty of opportunity for friendship and fun. The Vancouver Branch of the RSCDS was formed in 1965, although Scottish Country Dancing had been active since the 1930s.
