Ahead of this summer’s workshop with Aishwarya Raut, we’re highlighting her performance in ‘Goldfish’—a dance film exploring sensory overload, distraction, and mindfulness in the modern world. Watch the full film at link in our bio!

‘Goldfish’ is a physical and artistic representation of sensory overload, set within the claustrophobic limits of a station waiting room. Through dance, ‘Goldfish’ explores the search for mental and emotional grounding amidst sensory overload, inviting us to find stillness within the noise.

Inspired by research from neuroscientist Crawford Winlove (University of Exeter), the choreography evolved from Generation Goldfish, a live work originally premiered with Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, before transforming into this digital film.

Directed and choreographed by Charlotte Edmonds
Artists Aishwarya Raut (Rambert Dance Company) and Edwin Louis
Original score by Katya Richardson and Ryan Sullivan

Made with the support of University of Exeter, Arts Council England, and Bayerisches Staatsballett. Premiered with NOWNESS on 31 October 2022.

In Only Light Years Away, our dancers (literally) become larger than life through video and light. 💡

These video portraits will be projected onto the stage floor. Dancers move through the light beams of their own contours, and bring their new creation to life.

Only Light Years Away by Tiffany Tregarthen & David Raymond is part of Love & Loss: a triple bill alongside works by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and William Forsythe.

From 23/06 to 28/06 in Opera Antwerp. Tickets and more info 🔗 link in bio
